Gwynedd is a county in the north west of Wales. The county stretches from the Carneddau mountains in the north east to the finger of land known as the Llyn Peninsula in the west. And from the Menai Strait in the north to the Dyfi estuary in the south. To the north is the Isle of Anglesey, and to the south the county of Ceredigion. The Snowdonia National Park occupies much of Gwynedd with the mountains of Snowdonia being the main geographical feature of the county. The cheif areas of population are Bangor, Caernarfon and Llanberis in the north, Criccieth, Pwllheli, and Porthmadog on the Lleyn, and Harlech, Barmouth and Aberdyfi on the Cardigan Bay coastline. Within the heartlands of Gwynedd are the historic market towns of Bala and Dolgellau with the slate capital of the world the town of Blaenau Ffestiniog to be found in the hills of Snowdonia. Properties range from smallholdings and detached farmhouses with acres of land to semi detached and small terraced houses in the town centres. Marina developments are springing up around the beautiful Gwynedd coastline with marinas at Felinheli and Caernarfon on the Menai Strait and Pwllheli on the Cardigan Bay coast.
